In the heart of our vineyards, between the breezy shores of Lake Garda and the hills of Valpolicella Classica, you are aware of a unique harmony, an intimate connection between man and the earth. We are tireless custodians of the precious knowledge we have acquired, cultivating our vines with responsibility and care. And so, in the midst of our vineyards that stretch towards the horizon, you breathe in the magic of a world suspended between the past and the present.

Our land is situated in the hamlet of Monte in the municipality of Sant’Ambrogio, from which you can admire a landscape of rare beauty: the Adige Valley, the morainic amphitheatre of Rivoli and Lake Garda, as well as Mount Baldo, Mount Pastello, and the Mollinary Fort with its buttresses.

The area is crossed by numerous waterways, and is rich in aquifers that flow into the left bank of the Adige. The altitude at which our vines grow is a crucial element, because it determines the characteristics of our high hillside wines.

The road that leads up to our vineyards has a thick, paved surface: it is considered a “modern road”, and is lined by solid, ancient dry stone walls. It is steep, but the view repays you with one of the most attractive view of Valpolicella Classica, which goes from the vertiginous ledges perched over the Adige to the 1200 meters of altitude of Mount Pastello. Our vineyards are west-facing, in the most extreme and western zone of Valpolicella Classica, between 490 and 500 meters above sea level.

The soil is composed mainly of clay and limestone marls: together with the altitude and the exposure to sunlight, they confer complexity, elegant acidity and refreshing sensations to the wines.

The morainic hills are a series of concentric elevations that lie along the eastern shore of Lake Garda.
The so-called “morene di Pastrengo” represent the most complex sector of hills, containing a very dense series of rises – on average between 190 and 200 meters above sea level – little valleys, terraces and basins.

The roots of our vines burrow deep in terrain of glacial origin, characterized by varied soils that are extremely rich in minerals.
The climate is mild and well-ventilated, and the cool water of the lake gives rise to moderate breezes that rise up towards our hills, which are also embraced by the Adige river.

The soils where our vines grow are predominantly of clay loam and gravelly stones: they give the wines freshness, austerity and a predominant tangy note, reminiscent of the sea that was here many thousands of years ago.
